About
Come play with us!
TerraTeach is a community-centric learning center whose mission is to empower youth and inspire adults to regenerate our shared land, values, and community. Located off Papermill Drive, our campus provides after school care in an urban gardening environment that focuses on experiential learning, developing problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the fact that the natural world holds many of the answers we're looking for.
Our goal of exposing students to permaculture and regenerative agricultural practices is intentional- not only because of the benefit that outdoor engagement brings for us as individuals, but also as a key pillar of our ongoing battle against food insecurity. When we seek to create environments that create a sense of both physical AND psychological safety, we have the best chance at creating positive and lasting impact on the children (and staff!) in our care.
We are currently offering after school care for children aged 5-12, community workshops in the evenings, and Saturday childcare and workshop offerings as well. Volunteers are invited to join us during any hours that children are in our care to facilitate as much of a 1:1 experience as possible in collaboration with our Care Coordinators and on-site staff.
Come ready to play, ready to teach, and ready to grow with us!
